Oh, what a turd!

Well, mummy said that I have to tell everyone that I haven't had a very good few days. On Tuesday I cried most of the day and gave mummy a big headache. Yesterday I had a great day and was so loving and caring that mummy forgave me for Tuesday. But today, oh what a turd I've been today! I've had trouble having a poo, so mummy understands that I'm upset, but today she did something that she's been telling me she'll do if I keep crying. I thought she was just joking... I'll have to behave myself in future!

She keeps telling me that she'll put me in a box....

...and put a stamp on my head and send me off to somewhere, anywhere!

I went to see Trina the Healthcare Nurse yesterday and I'm now 5.08kgs, 56cms and 39.5cms head circumference. Maybe I've been unsettled because my head is growing so much...

A fortnight of firsts.

Wow, I can't believe that it's nearly been two weeks since I posted last. Mummy has been so busy she hasn't had time to help me post anything - I can't type yet so I rely on her having time to do it for me. She doesn't have to scream for me though, I can do that for myself, though she would be happy if I didn't do so much of it today because I have made her give up trying to do anything today. She should have known from the time I threw up a whole bottle all over her, myself and the couch this morning that she wasn't going to get much done today...the first power chuck on mummy.
Sometimes I make mummy very tired...

My biggest news for this post is.....Dah Dah.... On 15th August, at 5 weeks and 6 days, I started to smile! I waited until daddy had the day off work so he didn't miss it, and when he was playing with me in the morning, I gave him the first huge smiles. Anyone would think mummy and daddy had never seen anyone smile before by their reactions and they looked so happy that I have kept on smiling at them (I have to humour them). I am usually my happiest when I am on my change table when I give lots of smiles, gurgles and have just started to copy mummy when she pokes her tongue out at me. Even though I've found my lungs a lot more in the last fortnight, when I can see that I'm starting to stress mummy out, all I have to do is smile at her and it gets me out of trouble. I'm learning really quickly!

Just call me Gummy Magee

Alright, I'll start back at the weekend of the 8th/9th/10th. On the Friday, mummy and daddy went and opened my first bank account for me so now once my soccerball moneybox (thanks Uncle Eric) and my piggy moneybox (thanks Great-Nanna Bush) are full, I can put it in the bank. Over the weekend, Uncle Vern came to stay. It was so nice to meet him and I don't think that I kept him awake, but boy, I've never heard so much snoring coming from the spare bedroom before! We went out for dinner with Nanna and Grandad Rastall on the Saturday night, not that it worried me, I just slept through it. We went for dinner to our next door neighbour's house on the Sunday. We met them at mum's group as they have a 3 month old son called Dylan so I got to play with him while mummy, daddy and Vern had a great curry!

Thanks for visiting Uncle Vern

On Monday 11th, Nanna Rastall came to babysit me while mummy and Grandad Rastall went shopping together to buy daddy a surprise. Mummy bought daddy a new 50 inch plasma tv, a lovely lowline unit for it to go on and a matching coffee table to say thank you for being so good with her and me. She said she couldn't have got through the last 12 months without all of his help and support and she wanted to show him how much we love him. I asked her to buy his early Father's Day present from me while she was out (I can't quite drive a car yet and don't have a wallet to put my money in, so this is yet another thing I rely on her for). I got him a DVD recorder to go with his new tv. Grandad hid the furniture at his house and when the tv was delivered on Tuesday afternoon, Nanna and Grandad came down again to help mummy move all of the old furniture and set up the new stuff so daddy didn't have a clue what was going on! He was really surprised when he came home on Tuesday and judging from his reaction, he really likes it! It's so big and I really like watching my first Olympics on it.
When we went to mum's group on Tuesday 12th, most of my other friends there had played up on the Sunday before (including me). I think that the mum's might be onto us though. We have been conspiring together to drive them all insane at the same time to make sure they bond well so we can all keep playing together in the future after mum's group finishes. It seems to be working because they are all getting on well and after mum's group this week at the CFA, a group of us went out for lunch. Zahra, Ben, Flynn and I had a lovely time at lunch, we all made sure that just as our mum's lunches came out, we all wanted feeding and cuddles. That'll teach them for thinking they can have time to themselves! Unfortunately Lachlan had to go home because his Grandma was coming to visit and Jedd didn't come to mum's group becase his mum Tracey was sick. I have had lots of time to play with Jedd though; we went out for dinner with him and his mummy and daddy last Friday night for Mexican and they came to play at our house on Sunday to watch their football team (Carlton) get beaten. Mummy is really enjoying getting to know new people and I am loving making new friends.

Last Thursday we went to have my hands and feet sculpted to have framed with my birth certificate and a picture. I was so good getting it done, I was more concerned about having my bottle than what the lady was doing to me. It didn't hurt at all and I can't wait to see it once it's done. Mummy and I did a photo shoot on Wednesday to try and get a good photo for the frame, but she wasn't happy with what we got so we will have to try again. She did get some nice pictures from it though. We went to do our first full grocery shop on our own on Thursday afternoon. As you can see by the picture below, I slept the whole way around and attracted lots of oohhhs and aahhhs from other shoppers who thought I was cute (they don't know me very well).

You're going to do what? I'm just happy with my bottle.

This modelling business makes me tired

Shopping also makes me tired...

That's pretty much my fortnight. Mummy has been studying as much as she can between feeding, changing, playing, cuddling/calming, bathing, sleeping, cooking and cleaning. I think her secret to getting it done is the fact that one of her shins is becoming very sore from rocking my bouncer while she reads...

As always, here are some random photos from my few weeks.

I'm now wearing '000' clothes (thanks Phyll and Dave!)

How quickly time flies

How quickly has the last month gone? I can't believe I am already a month old. Mummy and daddy tell me that it has been the best month of their lives and that it feels like I have been here for much longer. I have really started to focus on things this week and love watching myself in the mirror. I am making mummy and daddy melt when I stare into their eyes and I am giving them lots of little half-smiles. I might reward them soon with a full smile for the silly voices and stupid faces they are pulling to try to get me smile.

Who's that spunky fella? One month old with Nanna Rastall And my daddy loves me...
The eyes that melt hearts

My last week has been another very busy one. Daddy was able to take Friday and Monday off work to spend with us which was fantastic as I am really missing him when he is at work. I've done more visiting this week; I got to spend time with Aunty Kim, Uncle Glen, Aunty Sharon, Grandma Glenys and Grandpa John, Aunty Tanya and Uncle Mark (and my future playmate in Aunty Tanya's tummy), got to finally meet Aunty Mel, Uncle Tim and my playmate Lily and also all the people at mummy and daddy's work after a visit on Monday. I went to Nanna and Grandad Jensen's house to see if I could cheer Grandad up to make him feel a bit better (I think it worked!). I love it when I see them and Nanna Bush because I get so many cuddles and kisses!

I had fun at mum's group on Tuesday where we learned about massage and playtime. I had my four week appointment with Trina the Healthcare Nurse yesterday. I am now 4.54kgs, 54.8cms long and my head is 38.5cms (up from 4.04kgs, 52.8cms long and head circumference 35cms two weeks ago - looks like I've got my dad's head with it growing so quickly). I am sleeping so well now - I am in bed by around 6.30pm and am waking at around 12am, 6am and 9am for feeds. Daddy does the 6am feed before he goes to work so both mummy and daddy are getting plenty of sleep. When we are at home, I am also having a proper afternoon nap from around 1.30pm-4pm (when mummy wakes me so we can play for a few hours). I also find time to have a quick nap between getting up in the morning at 9am and my afternoon nap at 1.30pm. All this sleeping is hard work and I do get grumpy sometimes, but most of the time I'm an angel still. My favourite time of day is still my bathtime with mummy and massage time afterwards with daddy.

My end of the world face

I have my Uncle Vern coming down from Sydney to visit me tomorrow - he's driving all the way here just to meet me for the weekend. I can't wait to spend time with him, mummy and daddy have told me so much about him. I hope I don't keep him awake all weekend - his bedroom is next to mine!

Here are a couple of photos to show how much I have grown already.

I'm so tired I can't even be bothered with my dummy
