I started to roll on the 22nd December - I rolled 3 times that day and mummy missed them all but I made sure that I did it in front of daddy! As of the night of the 23rd, I had rolled up towels in my bed because I woke mummy and daddy up crying the night before because I'd rolled over and couldn't get back. I flap and carry on when I'm on my tummy and can't work out yet how to move around like the other babies in mum's group are starting to. When I have enough of being on my tummy, I just put my head to the side and go to sleep. I started to sit up on my own on Christmas Day too, though that's probably got more to do with wanting to play with all the presents I got from everyone! I think that everyone and everything is a jolly jumper and insist on standing whenever I can - which poses a problem when I am in the bath.
I have been waking up a couple of times a night for the last fortnight because my teeth are moving around in my sore little gums. Mummy and daddy really aren't used to this at all and just want to see the little white buggers come through so I can get back to normal. I love my food and eat everything that is given to me. My favourite fruit is mango and I also really love to eat beef, bananas, apples, zuccini, pumpkin, tuna and mummy's toast crusts each morning. I even ate half a sausage on the weekend by holding it in my hand and sucking the meat out of it. I have already overtaken Aunty Karen in the hand-eye co-ordination skills and am grabbing at everything that comes my way.
I had my first sleepover away from home on the 21st January at Nanna and Grandad Rastall's house. It was a bit last minute because mummy and daddy had to take Grandad Jensen to the hospital at short notice, but I really enjoyed myself (after hearing that Grandad Jensen was ok). I only woke up once and when I got up in the morning, Grandad put me in bed with Nanna at 7.30am! They said I was as good as gold and would have me anytime, so mummy has quickly booked in my next sleepover for a few weeks time before they change their mind.
We've been swimming loads since the weather has been so good. I'm so good in the water, I never bother with kids splashing me or mummy putting me right under. I'm so comfortable in the water that I've taken to falling asleep in the water when I'm tired which adds another 40 minutes to our at-least hour swim. Mummy and Aunty Karen were in the pool with me for over 2hrs on Christmas Eve when I fell asleep in Aunty Karen's arms! Nanna Rastall has been swimming with me, but I really wish Grandad Rastall would come with us one day...
I've discovered my voice and tongue. I'm licking everything, giving open-mouth kisses (which turns into sucking cheeks, chins or noses), been blowing raspberries for the last week and I'm constantly saying 'rah, rah, rah' or 'mbah, mbah, mbah'. I love it when mummy puts her hands over my ears or when I put my ears underwater at the pool or in the bath because I can hear myself better. I'm also doing this really funny thing where I wobble my head Stevie Wonder-style at things that I like. Nanna Rastall says that I have St Vitas Dance because I can't sit still and even when I have my bottles I've got to be kicking my leg or flicking my bottle. I absolutely love the puppies now and I'll get mummy to post some video of me with them - they are a great distraction for me if I get upset when I fall over from sitting up (or falling out of the jolly jumper when daddy tries to put me in...).
Now what you've all been waiting for...photos! Mummy will slowly keep updating over the next few days...she promises!
