Big News!

No pictures today, just the news that my top right tooth finally came through this morning - that makes 4 now! It's really been giving me some trouble over the last few days so I am really glad it's through.

But the biggest news is... I took 5 steps this morning! I'd been stringing together 2 and 3 over the last few days, but it was more by accident than by skill. But today, there was no mistaking it, it was definately skill. Daddy was sleeping because he worked nightshift last night and Nanna came over for a visit. Just before she left, she was sitting on the step in the lounge with me and Mummy came over to get me from her so she could put her shoes on and instead of waiting for her to get to me, I took 5 steps to get to her! I would have walked further (Nanna and Mummy agree) but Mummy was standing too close. I don't think Mummy and Nanna could quite believe what they saw, they just smiled a lot and told me that I was very clever. Just quietly, I was pretty chuffed with myself too!

Of course, when Daddy got up I pretended I didn't know what Mummy was talking about and refused to show him what I can do. I might show him in the next couple of days if he's lucky. I can't believe that I turn 1 on Sunday. I wonder if I'll be running around for my birthday...

Pass the Dutchie on the Left Hand Side

Here's a couple of pictures of my afternoon yesterday at Nanna Rastall's with Aunty Karen and Uncle Eric. I'm very pleased to be able to tell everyone now that I am going to have another cousin to play with soon - Aunty Karen is having a baby!!! I'm very excited, they all tell me that Midge (as we have dubbed the unborn) will be my Christmas present this year as he/she is due early December. Yay!!!
I represent, the Lollipop Guild...
How cool are my baby clogs from Aunty Karen and Uncle Eric?! Now I have an excuse for looking as if I'm walking with wooden shoes on...(these ones are slippers though!)

I knew I'd get them!
Bending Mickey's ear about my day
I really am glad my Aunty Karen's home, I'm just very sleepy

Sultan(a) of Swing (otherwise known as sick)

Well, this week my Aunty Karen and Uncle Eric came home! It was wonderful to see them: Mummy, Daddy, Nanna and I went to pick them up from the airport (Nanna stayed at their house to surprise them even more!). My top tooth nearly has a friend thankfully, it doesn't look like I will be earning pocket money opening cans for people after all. Mummy thinks the next one should come through in the next day or so.
Not a lot has happened this week other than that, I played with my friends from mum's group on Tuesday. Nanna took me out for the morning on Tuesday too so Mummy could have some time to get on with her work, I love going out with her and I'm ever so good for her. Nanna's also been recording my favourite TV show each morning for me so I can watch it when I go to her house - I LOVE In the Night Garden. Mummy, Daddy and Nanna can't work out why because they think it is horrible and the sort of thing that nightmares are made out of, but I am glued to it when Mummy lets me watch it!
I had a little accident on Wednesday night after Mummy and Daddy put me to bed. You will see from the pictures what happened - Mummy was the lucky one who got to deal with the aftermath. It was the first time that I've really given her any reason to be completely grossed out, and considering I'm nearly a whole year old, I haven't done too badly!
Friday I was lucky enough to spend the whole afternoon with Daddy - Mummy went out to a place called a day spa. I'm not sure what it was, but I was in bed before she came home, and Daddy said that when she did come home she was VERY relaxed and smelled really nice. I hope she had a good time, she really deserved a break.
The other big thing that has happened is that I'm starting to take steps on my own. I can string together 2 or 3 before I drop down to my knees, but I'm getting more confident every day. I think I'll be walking before Grandad comes home! He'd better hurry up or I'll be running by the time I see him next.
Watching my new favourite show 'In the Night Garden' with my daddyWaving at Igglepiggle Cheeeezzzzeeee Hmmm, let me think, am I cute?.... I don't know, what do you think?Let me think about it... Yep! Check out these tooshie pegs Dirty Merve returnsHello? Is there anyone there? The tunnel of loveThis is what mummy walked into the other morning, I was sick all through my bed the night before and I'd slept in it all night! There were even sultanas stuck in my hair. Mummy had to wash it twice and comb sick out of it - yummy! While she stripped my bed, she came back in my room to find me trying to eat one of the sultanas, she was pretty grossed out - I'd better not tell her how many I had already recycled before she came in....Helping Aunty Karen hang out her washing
And some photos from Mummy's phone (sorry the quality isn't great):
With Reg meeting my first wombat - and he's a white one!
Playing with the baby in the mirror - needless to say, Mummy doesn't use the change table much any more!
Daddy had this done on Tuesday, Mummy says he must love me VERY much to have this done!
In my new big boy chair in the car
Mucking about with MummyI still wake up really happy in the morning
See?!Go on, take another one Mummy!
Butter wouldn't melt in my mouth....
...would it?
This is the face that I'm constantly pulling at the moment because I get around saying 'cho', 'to' and 'hello' (Mummy knocks on my door when she can hear that I've woken up and says hello and I say hello back). I've got 'up' down pat now and I'm making a 'ta' noise when people give me things. I'm still making what sounds like a car noise as I crawl around and have started saying 'shei, shei' (which sounds quite funnily like shit!).I really love playing with my phone (a little disturbingly judging by this picture!) - 'Hello, you've called 0055-ConnorMan...'Nappy-head. Mummy thinks I look like an Oompa Loompa.

And the picture of the week is.....Peggy Sue!

3's a Crowd!

Just a quick note to let you all know that I now have 3 teeth! I cut my top left tooth on Monday. Mummy hopes that the top right will come through soon otherwise I'll be the kid that can open cans of baked beans and beer with his lone front tooshie. I am trying really hard to walk, standing up on my own for ages and as I finally fall, I put a foot out. Won't be long and Mummy will have to put me in a sack to keep me still (just kidding Social Services, Mummy said I can always go back in the box with my stamp).

Also, I got to talk to my Grandad Rastall on the phone today! It was very exciting and though I said hello to him a few times, I spent most of the time waving at the phone. I can't wait to see him, another few weeks to go though. Aunty Karen and Uncle Eric come home next week and I'm SOOOO excited to see them! I have missed them so very much, I don't want them to go away ever again!
Can you tell Mummy caught us both out with this photo? We were both sleeping on the couch while Mummy was cooking dinner - it's Daddy's job to keep me out of Mummy's hair while she's in the kitchen.
Me with my new family (though I've got more hair than them). Daddy bought these for Mummy to congratulate her on going back to work. They'll go really well with all the new furniture Mummy and Daddy have bought for the house. I can't wait until it all gets here, though they've picked really well because there's not much I can get my grubby little fingers into...

More Birthdays!

Once again, what a busy week. We had my mate Jedd's first birthday on Saturday and it was Daddy's birthday on Sunday. Jedd had a baby animal farm at his party, which was great fun! I got to see all of my little friends there and had a lovely time playing together. I ate anything I could get my hands on - including 3 and a half frankfurters, most of a cupcake and some quiche!
We had a great day too for Daddy's birthday. I made him breakfast in bed (with Mummy's help) and brought his pressies in for him in my truck. We went out for lunch with all of Daddy's family, Nanna Rastall (no-one else from that side of my family could be bothered being in this half of the hemisphere!), Magda, Dom and Bec. I had a kiddie meal of roast of the day (and ate most of it!) and as a special treat, Bec bought me two scoops of icecream, bubblegum and rainbow. It was my first taste of icecream and I nearly polished the whole lot off too! All in all, it was a really great weekend and I got to see lots of people too (and eat lots of stuff I don't usually get to have!).
On a developmental note, I am crawling properly on all 4's now and am so quick getting around. I'm really keeping Mummy and Daddy on their toes and I've noticed that lots of stuff around the house is being moved out of my reach since my little fingers get into everything! My top teeth are starting to come through now and I am covered in bruises from my explorations gone wrong around the house (I lost my footing infront of the bookshelf and ended up with a massive bruise on my knee and a big eggy on my head next the the bruise I already had from falling over at Jedd's party). I can stand on my own now for ages (probably 30-60 seconds) without help and I am starting to put a foot forward before I fall over. Mummy thinks I am easily over 11kgs now and I am fitting into size 1! Only 3 weeks now until I turn 1, it's gone so quickly! I can't wait until I get to have my party, which will be a few weeks after my birthday since we have to wait for Grandad to come home from England. I miss him so much and I'm always looking for him. I hope he's enjoying my blog! Only a few more weeks and I'll get to see Aunty Karen and Uncle Eric too - I'm missed everyone terribly and miss all the extra kisses and cuddles. I think they will definitely see a big difference in me when the come home!
Come on my peeps, let go party in Jedd's crib!
